Project Team roles in the project management formation

The formation of the project team is a responsibility of the project manager. Depending on the project, the organization, the contractual relations between the parties, and the project stakeholders, a project team may have a different configuration.

We can say that the project team has two types of roles – project management roles and technical implementation teams, which can also have a hierarchy. The article outlines the roles of the project team related to the technical implementation.

QA team leader

The QA team leader is responsible for the quality of the project elements in the development process. Identifies product issues before being released. Detects, documents, and analyzes all errors. Develops new tests to be used by the team, documents results, collaborates with developers and other developers on a product improvement project. Once the error is corrected, the QA team re-tests to confirm that the defect has been corrected and the product provides excellent quality for the users. Its job is to make sure that the quality assurance team understands correctly the quality requirements of the project and is able to correctly identify deviations from them.

The position requires a combination of skills. Both programming experience and in-depth knowledge of automatic and manual testing are important. Analytical skills and excellent communication skills are required, as well as a thorough knowledge of the standards by which the company operates.

Head of Logistics and Supply

Logistics and Supply Manager – Implementation is managed by the Project Manager and communicated to the Logistics and Supply Manager. Responsible for the timely supply of the project, making sure that the team understands correctly the requirements for resources and materials. He is responsible for the logistics of the parts of the project that are outsourced and coordinates it. Responsible for coordinating product logistics with customers and distributors. It cannot allow new project costs or allocate resources without the approval of the project manager. Good knowledge of INCOTERM.

Employee logistics and procurement

Logistics and Supply Officer – takes care of the timely supply of the project. Provides logistics for the parts of the project that are outsourced and coordinates it. Provides product logistics to the customer and distributors. Good knowledge of INCOTERM.

Financial officer

Project Financial Officer – Analyzes the cost of project funds by collaborating on information with all project teams, following the project budget. Responsible for project revenue analysis. Draws up and sends all necessary budget analysis and project cost analysis to the project manager. Collaborates with the finance department and coordinates proper project accounting. Knowledge of finance and control, excellent knowledge of company policies and standards.

HR manager

HR Project Manager – Assists in hiring new employees, organizes and assists in employee training and hiring experts. Analyzes working hours against schedules and submits them to the financial officer of the project for addition to the financial analysis. If necessary, prepare analyzes for the project manager. Knowledge of human resources.

A marketing manager

Marketing and market research – analyzes product capabilities, studies the market, develops a marketing strategy for the project. It analyzes the cost and draws up a business plan for the project. Prepares risk analysis. He is responsible for advertising and selling the product. Maintains feedback to distributors and customers.

Technical department

Technical department – provides warranty and after warranty support of the product. Excellent knowledge of the product and its technologies. Knowledge of programming languages, excellent technical knowledge.

The project for an innovative washing machine will last 12 weeks. All resources are needed before the project starts. During the first 6 weeks, everyone must complete 40 hours a week on the project. After the sixth week, part of the project staff will be lessened to commit to the project.
